ScrappyTripAlong Inspiration!

So this past week at our monthly meeting we learned all about the Instagram craze, the Scrappytripalong. Here are some links to keep you inspired and get started on your own!

Original tutorial: Quiltville Scrappy Trips Around the World.

I love this idea by Freshly Pieced- Make big HST's with your blocks!

Alternate layout by Erickajackman

Make intentional color and fabric choices like Schnitzel&Boo.

My progress all in blue. (Jessica)

Heather's beautiful top.

Brenda's helpful math. Remember you can get 8 strips from a fat quarter.

So have you gotten sucked in yet? I am halfway to 56 blocks, and I'm still not sick of making them yet! Also check out the Flickr group. There are some really helpful and fun discussion threads there, plus all the eye candy of course.

CMQG - OCMQG QuiltCon Pincushion Swap

The Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild is participating in a pincushion swap with the Oklahoma City MQG.  The swap will occur at QuiltCon in February but you don't need to be going to QuiltCon to participate.
Bring your pincushion to the February meeting and give it to Teresa who will bring them to QuiltCon in Austin.

There are a few ground rules:
All pincushions should have a modern aesthetic
Pincushions should contain nothing breakable

Pincushions should be tagged with the following info:
name
email
blog (if applicable)
guild
filling materials (in case of allergies)
whether or not you are attending QuiltCon (Y/N)

Here is some inspiration:
