Denyse Schmidt at the National Quilt Museum

Hi, guys! Denyse Schmidt will be teaching a two-day Pure Improv workshop at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky this month. The workshop runs October 18-19, and here's how Denyse describes the class on her website:

In this workshop, we will explore the farthest reaches of improvisational patchwork—and your own creativity —using traditional patterns as a foundation. We'’ll begin with fun, fast-paced exercises to become completely familiar with a single quilt pattern. Once we internalize its basic structure, we can apply the principles of improvisation to create spontaneous and uniquely individual expressions of a single theme. Some improvisational piecing experience recommended.

Denyse will also be giving a presentation about her work on Saturday, the 19th at 6:00 pm. For more information, or to register, please visit the museum's website here
